Hi, I have a G5 macpro with iPhoto08 version 7.15. I have switched over from Kodak easyshare software to iPhoto a few yrs back, and then I lost my photos but recovered them. Long and short, now I have 16000+ photos instead of about 7000+ photos. I have duplicates, triplicates etc. How do I get rid of duplicates? BTW I also have a new Macbook Pro 17" with iPhoto09 on it if that helps.I have purchased a new mac mini and want to resolve this issue before I switch everything over to just the macmini and macbook pro and my airport extreme network.

DupScan

This scans for duplicate files, not just images. It doesn't integrate into iPhoto though, so deleting the duplicates may cause error messages the next time iPhoto launches. And flagging each file for deletion will be time-consuming if you really have thousands of duplicates.

Sounds like Duplicate Annihilator will work better for you. On the other hand, DupScan is free.
