How Do I Burn DVD's?

I've got my DVD DL discs so I can burn backup copies of my movies in their entirety. I forgot to ask however: how do I burn the dvd's back onto discs (from my hard drive)?

I tried opening disk utility and selecting "burn." However, I can't select either the movie folder or the video ts file/s.

What's the best/easiest way to backup my movies onto discs?
