My hard drive in my mac pro was running low on free space. 900 gigs of my 1 terrabyte drive is filled. This is mostly because iMovie saves the original footage (which is nice because i like having it) and it's mostly high definition footage.

So i just installed a new 1 terrabyte drive in my computer.

I want to take my iMovies and their original footage (everything in my iMovie program) and put them on this new hard drive. It will be a 1 terrabyte drive dedicated to iMovie. So, how do i do that?

Do i just copy the Movies folder in my Home Directory to the new hard drive? If i do that, will iMovie find them? Rather than screw everything up, i thought i would ask you guys....as you have much more experience than me.

Super complicated.

Open iMove. Click the little hard drive icon next to "Event Library" to show drives. Drag and drop events between these drives to copy.
