I'm really confused.
  1. I thought it was the case the all drivers and software for HP were supposed to be integrated into Snow Leopard and updates would be given via Software Update;
  2. Right now, as of version 10.6.2, I cannot add an HP Scanner without downloading HP's software suite, which I was supposed to uninstall (back when I had 10.6, I think) but now I suppose is the only way to go?
  3. Although HP Scan sort of works and I can save documents that look fine, the results of my scans do not show up visually hardly at all within the HP Scan window (I have to save them a reopen them in Preview).
What is going on here?

There is a scanner tab in the print window, where you can adjust the scanner settings.

Are you using a HP printer in conjunction with the HP scanner?

I did not need to install any HP specific drivers to use my scanner under 10.6.2, but my scanner is part of my all-in-one printer, scanner.
