maybe i'm just having a bad day, but cannot figure this out.
i worked on a film (music), and the director sent me a dvd.
i want to convert it to an avi file, to play on my WD player, on my tv.
can anyone suggest a (preferably freeware, since this is a one-time thing) app to do this?
handbrake gave me an mp4 (which the WD does not recognize); wondershare won't see the dvd OR recognize the mp4 from handbrake. and dvdripper for mac crashes every time i select my dvd. etc, sigh...

anyone? thanx..!

Use MacTheRipper to copy the DVD to your Mac minus the copy protection. Then use a slightly older version of Handbrake (v0.91) ... they removed AVI and Xvid capability in 0.94

You may not need MTR since most non-studio disks are not encrypted.

What WD do you have? WD TV supports MP4 and even MKV.

made an mkv file in handbrake, and all is well...thanx!
