iPhoto (7.1.5) will not do a complete import. It seems to be stuck. I have new photos on my Canon Powershot, but when it gets to a certain point during the import, the blue bar stops filling and it says there's 247 photos to import. And nothing ever happens. I have to go in and Force Quit because it says iPhoto is not responding.
I may have jiggered something, because on a prior import a few weeks ago I disconnected the camera from the computer during a transfer of photos because it looked like nothing was happening.
Also, there are now two "recovered photos" folders in my albums which were not there before.
What could be the reason that the final 247 photos can not get from my camera
into iphoto? I'm nervous about continuing to attempt another import for fear the photos on my camera will be lost or corrupted.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

You could simply mount the camera on your desktop and manually copy the photos to your computer (desktop, temp folder, etc.). Then import the copied over files into iPhoto through drag and drop.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. Would you mind telling me the steps on how to do what you're advising. I don't know how to "mount the camera" or then be able to "see" the photos from the camera and then copy them over?
I've got a good sense of what you're saying, but sorry, don't know how to do this.
Thanks again.

When you plug in your camera, it should appear as a mounted disk on the desktop. Instead of opening the camera in iPhoto, open up the mounted disk on the desktop and find the photos. Different manufacturers organize the captured photos in different ways, but there should be a folder that contains all the pictures. Open that and copy over the files to your computer, then drag them onto the iPhoto icon either in the dock or in your Applications folder to import them.
