I currently have 3 Dell computers. I am looking to buy 3 imacs and a MacBookPro for my motel business and personal use. I understand that Quickbooks is not supported on the mac in Canada so I would have to buy 4 paralles to run it in windows 7 on my macs. Does anyone have experience with networking these machines and how easy, efficient, and reliable QBs is on macs. I'm trying to find justification for spending twice the money to buy 3 macs instead of 3 pcs. Feedback from users is what I'm looking for. Thanks, Shannon

What do you mean by "Quickbooks is not supported on the mac in Canada" ?

Do you mean there is no localized version that would have Canadian-specific tax support ?
Or does it not support your local banks ?

I mean that they do not create QB or tax tables for QB for macs and they won't answer questions if it turns out to be a problem with running QB on your mac. If it's a parallels problem or networking problem then they won't help diagnose or solve it. You have to go to the parallels or network supplier. Do you run QB in Canada on a mac?

No, I'm not in Canada. Coincidentally, I run Quicken 2010 for Windows on VMWare Fusion, mainly because Quicken for Mac is basically abandonware.

Performance wise, the Fusion route is ok on my iMac with 4GB RAM.

I don't think you'd run into specific problems that are Quickbooks unique but are the fault of the VM. So I wouldn't worry about the quickbooks support issue.
