any one know if the new firefox 3.6 will work with Ad blocker plus?

Yes it works very well with FF 3.6 - good bye to ads.

Is there any similar apps like that for Safari?

There is an ad blocker called Safari Block for Safari. Now it even uses the Easylist subscription to block ads.

You can build your own blocklist for it and you can also use the Easylist subscription from Adblock Plus with it as well. If you do not see any ads, it is working. The settings for it are in Safari's preference settings.
