OK I know about using eSnipe to automate bidding, but is there anything out there for Mac that allows you to automate the searching? I am pretty sure eSnipe does not do this.

I would like to automagically search certain terms on eBay every so often. Once an hour, once a day, etc. Any ideas out there? Of course, shareware/freeware is preferred but I might pay for the service if it's affordable. I missed out on a piece of gear yesterday that came and went in under an hour. If I had known it was available when it came up for auction, I would have been all over it.

I'm open to iPhone apps that do this, as well. Thanks in advance. Mac on!

What about just using the RSS links that should show up when you search? I don't know how often they update, but it might be good as a first pass. I'm sure some RSS reader can e-mail you when a feed changes.

OK esnipe, I see that, good tip... but I would prefer to know on an hourly basis if there's a new item, so I can jump on it. I already check eBay first thing in the AM (and I get up very early).

So, I am still looking for an app of some sort which will automagically search eBay every X hours. I missed out on getting my gear this past Monday because an item came up at a very good 'buy it now' price and it was gone inside of two hours of the listing.

...I don't know what happened to esnipe's original post...

You dont need an application!

Just make a search in ebay and click the [ Save this search ] button next to where is says how many results it has found!

esnipe was a spammer, so he's gone.
