Hey there.
Recently I stumbled on a problem when browsing the apple movie trailers site.
On some of the movies for example this one
Hubble 3D - Movie Trailers - iTunes
there's a list of different resolutions you can watch the trailers at. It then launches the quicktime app and plays it there.
That doesn't happen for me though. If I launch firefox and do the exact same thing quicktime launches properly. But that doesn't happen on safari.
So I'm thinking that somehow the quicktime component for safari got corrupted.
Does anyone know where that is stored, and if it's going to be of any help?
Thanks in advance

Internet Plugins are shared across browsers, so if an embedded QT movie works in Firefox, then the component is OK for all browsers. Files sent to an external app do not involve plugins at all.

When you doubleclick a QT .mov file, what application does it open in? Safari uses the Get Info default apps to open downloaded files. You may have set QT files to open with something else.

Alternative: corrupted Safari preferences. Try to duplicate the problem in a fresh test account.
