My girlfriend uses AOL mail and it is giving us fits. She has 2 AOL email accounts and for 3 days the outgoing server went offline for one of the accounts. She can receive mail fine for that account but when she tries to send mail the password prompt comes up and when she enters the password it gets rejected. It is correct and she can log in to the account via webmail and send mail that way. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have they changed their SMTP ports? Have you tried turning authentication on or off? Have you tried sending out via your ISP instead?

No but the settings for the 2 accts are the same except for the email addresses and one is stuck "offline" which is weird.
