I recently installed a new HP Officejet 6500. I have an iMac Power PC/G5. My operating system is 10.4.11.

I can't figure out how to get the printer to use the black cartridge. It drinks the others making a muddled black. I've never had this problem with an HP printer and have always plugged them in and printed.

hp.com hasn't offered any assistance.

What do I do?
