I borrowed a Final Cut from a friend and accidentally registered for it. does this mean that my friend will not be able to use the program himself?

I doubt it's anything to be concerned about, Psevrn. Apple is a bit more strict with its pro software (compared to the OS for example) by requiring long registration strings, but I don't think anything negative happens if a given license is reported through registration more than once. Apple realizes that people sometimes need to perform clean installs. Now perhaps if Apple saw hundreds of registrations of a pro app that reported the same license, that could be a slightly different story.
