I have been running Filesalvage on "slow scan" for well over a week now, as the regular scan did not yield me the files I was looking for. It is only nearly half done, and it still says it will be hundreds of hours to complete. (damn...)

The other applications on my computer running it, such as Safari, (MP Dual 2.8 Ghz Quad), are starting to crash regularly, and I would really like to stop the scan, restart the machine, and pick up the scan where I left off.

I don't want to lose the hundreds of hours I have already put into this, but I need to get the machine working properly again.

Does anyone know if the scan can be stopped / saved, and then restarted?

I appreciate any help...

It sounds like you are trying to recover lost files. Are you applying it to your boot drive, or to a secondary drive?
