I've got a couple of websites that are hosted on two dedicated servers. As such the hosting company is not responsible for backing them up so I thought I better damn well get it sorted before the inevitable happens. Each server contains the sites, the sql databases, plus all the associated data.

So, what's the best way to back this lot up. I was thinking cloudly by I have a spare 750GB drive in the office server that would do good. However when I mount the servers via ftp I can't easily copy all the data over.

Weekly backups would be sufficient I guess if it has to be done manually however automated nightly would be great.

I tried to be smartarse and mounted the servers as volumes using the new version of Transmit (which is great) and then excluding those volumes from my TimeMachine backup, but that didn't work, which would have been sweet.

So what should I do?
