I am a newbie when it comes to dealing with video, but I don't think this has to be rocket science or whatever…

Facts list:

- Neighbor arrives from San Francisco with his new Sanyo CG10 digicam which has >100 clips on it, so I can't proceed straight to iDVD. Good, as I can't imagine anybody willing to browse a DVD disc with such an amount of scenes to choose from.

- To the untrained eye iMovie seems to be delicious. Added movie clips, added map and added Filmstrip theme. Clic on Share menu >> iDVD. Duty done.

If only.

iDVD chokes with the image above. Common sense says it has to be some weird issue with audio&video. But as newbie, that's where the accolades end, I'm afraid.

So, I open good old QuickTime 7 to gather any audio and video info, all yours:

I have even installed iLife onto my Mac Pro's second hard disk which has a bare bones Snow Leopard Server install, just in case any third party software had anything to do with it. Problem persists.

I have read most issues related to muxing come down to chapters, but I have not added any chapter… to my knowledge.

I am at a miss here. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Solved !!

by deleting…
library/caches/com.apple.idvd (it's a folder)
library/preferences/com.apple.iDVD.plist (it's a file)

and back to iDVD, settings you have to turn off at Advanced menu:
delete Encoded Assets
Encode in Background
