My camcorder is DXG-569V. It can capture 1280 x 720 video at 30 fps and shoot 5-megapixel. Video is recorded in H.264, .MOV format, .M2TS format…
My Mac is iMac with Mac OS X version 10.5

Here is my problem:
When I convert my camcorder video in my Mac with Handbrake, I get the beach ball of death. Sometimes it won’t get past the apple loading screen. When it does, it freezes on the desktop.

Something wrong with my Mac or handbrake? How to detect? If it is Handbrake, please name something alternative I can use.

First, Handbrake isn't the software you should be using to work with footage from your camcorder.

Second, if you're saying that when the camcorder is connected sometimes your Mac fails to start up completely - if it freezes at the grey Apple startup screen - then the problem is with your Mac. No camcorder should cause you to have startup problems.

HandBrake can be the right tool if you just want to reencode (some consumer camcorders record at crazy bitrates) without editing.

Post your activity log from HandBrake so we can see what you're dealing with and doing.

Also try the HandBrake nightly.

Did you even try the nightly? Why won't you post the activity log?

Smells spammy.

dwero posted about 5 hours before you with video converter spam (since deleted). Your instincts were correct.
