Hey Guys

I am a Computer Science university student. I need ideas! I am building an open source os x application for a software engineering class, but I don't know what to build! So suggest ideas and if it is good enough I will build it and release it to the world as well!!!

So is there something you wanted to do with os x that you can't do right now? Some application the windows world has that you want natively in os x? Let me know

Hmm mythtv client, seems a bit involved. Looking for something a bit smaller in scope since this is a class project. Thanks for the idea though.

Presently, Finder has 7 (washed out) colors that can be used to identify & highlight Files & Folders.

How about adding all the colors, or at least, additional colors?

And,

If iPhoto can identify faces, how about adopting this technology to verify that the real owner/authorized user is logging in, etc?

There was a great contextual menu plugin for the finder on PPC macs that allowed you to copy and paste icons, it stopped working back when we switched to intel, it was called IconCM, it was freaking awesome, I loved it, made the need for an App like CandyBar practically non-existent. Though I guess it depends on how much you wanna eat icon factory's lunch.
