I have QT Pro 7.6.4
it copies and pastes .avi and .wmv very nicely but not it seems .mp4
when a try to copy a .mp4 it does not appear on the clipboard.
is there a way around this?
many thanks!

Is it because the mp4 is copy protected (like you bought it from the iTunes store)?

I don't know, I don't have any to look at.
I can copy mp4 files here (7.6.6). What is the origin of the mp4? Can you copy other mp4s? How can you tell it's not on the clipboard?

Well I dont know where it came from and I have very very few.
I only recently notived that when I was using copy/paste with an mp4 it pasted something that I copied previously which some times ended up being text.
I then discovered that under Edit in the finder you can show clipboard.
this was a curiosity to me.
but its odd you can export if its copy protected.
thanks for your input.

I've found that with WMVs I can drag them from one movie document to another, but when I copy/paste the same thing I end up with a text version of the movie (it's name or something). I chalked it up as a bug. Maybe if you try drag and drop instead of copy/paste it might work...

To me as well. It is always good to know the new nooks and crannies they're hiding important info inside the files. BTW thanks for the tip on "show clipboard" I didn't know about that.

Make a selection (just like for copy/paste), then drag from the image of the movie window into another movie window (or to another app like to the desktop). The dragged movie selection will be pasted into the destination movie at the current playhead position (again just like copy/paste; actually from a programming perspective, drag-and-drop is implemented through another pasteboard, called the dragging pasteboard).

Interesting. If you find one that shows the problem and you don't mind sharing it and it's not too big, can you post it somewhere?
