seeking confirmation from others that installing the new iPhoto has turned your iPhoto into a snail.
and i'm running it on a 3.2 ghz Mac Pro. (although FACES is really fast now).

You need to uninstall iShare.

iPhoto probably needs to reindex the entire library and create new thumbnails for everything.
