Create a Book using 10 pictures. Go to the Projects sidebar (left side) and select the name of your Book. You see the name of your book followed by (10). Go into that book, click the 'photos' button in the bottom right corner of the screen and delete 7 pictures from the photo sidepane. The glitch is that it still shows (10), instead of (3).

If you quit out of iPhoto and relaunch, it still says (10). Grrrrrr

Can someone confirm that the counter isn't working for them either?

P.S. - also annoying that you can't drag photos in your Book to a new Album on the left sidebar.

Same here. Just for clarification purposes, the number of pictures is shown on mouseover; no need to click the book name.

Unless you have a backup of your previous iPhoto Library, you'll have to start over from scratch - the library was upgraded by iPhoto '11 and a previous version won't be able to read that file.

Not even a Time Machine backup?.

Also, why does the File > 'Browse Backups…' menu item recover a given photo as it was taken, any adjust I'd made to it is gone rendering the whole process as pointless?. Weird.

Thankfully I made a 'manual backup' of my iPhoto Library prior to the update, thus being able to recover a 'modified' photo from my old iPhoto Library.
