We just gave our very old, but stalwart and faithful iMac to my mother-in-law only to discover that iPhoto is broken. It launches, bounces a few times and then disappears. No problem, just reinstall, right? Unfortunately, I can't find the old discs for iPhoto '08 anywhere. We've upgraded all our other machines and I guess I didn't keep track of the old discs.

Any ideas what might be causing that behavior or how I could fix it?

Oh yeah, this is an old G4 iMac w/ a 800Mhz processor so installing my '09 family pack isn't an option.

Before doing that I'd delete its cache and plist to see if it helps.

They are located in ~/Library/Cache and ~/Library/Preferences, respectively.
