I have a user who starts up Mac Mail and it will say in the account activity section "Receiving x of 27874 messages". It will go pretty quick, but needless to say the user has never had that many mail messages (sent, received, drafts, etc) and there are definitely not 27K new messages. At first I thought it was doing a quick synchronization, but it does it so randomly that it makes me think something else is going on. Thoughts? Ideas? Questions?

I've seen that before, just Mail being buggy and quirky, like it has been for years.

Good to know...I figured it was something with the IMAP settings, but wasn't sure. Being buggy for years sure means I can't do anything about it. Anyone else want to weigh in and/or second the motion that Mac Mail is just buggy?
