How could I burn avi video to dvd on mac? Next Friday is my best friend's birthday, I want to give her a special present and now I need a burner software which offers me to make a dvd menu. What's more, I will really appreciate it if the burner software has some editing functions.

Everything you need is already included with your Mac, FOR FREE, except Handbrake, which is a free download (and free to use, not baitware) from here:

HandBrake

Use Handbrake to convert the AVI to something usable by iMovie, use iMovie to edit the video(s) and add text, audio, and photos, and then burn that, complete with animated menus, using iDVD.

Any Mac user who actually BUYS software to do these things for casual use is spending money on inferior crap, and a complete moron falling for crapware peddled by spammers on internet forums.

Welcome to our forums! I'm sure someone will pop in with specific suggestions soon. What sort of editing would you expect of this burner software?

Burn writes DVD-Video discs and converts files to the proper format prior to burning. Free too.

I wonder why nobody mentioned Toast. It is the most common burner software for Mac for at least 15 years.
