Weirdness with iCal Dock Icon

... it stays stuck at Dec 16. When I open iCal it changes to the current date, but when I close the app, the icon switches back to Dec 16. This only happens on my iMac, not my on MBP or my wife's MacBook. What's up with this, and how do I fix it?
