I've not used it for a while, but I've had something come up that I deeded to use InDesign for and its not playing ball.

I can make a new document, make a text box and write in it, but thats about it. Placing an image in a box, or saving a file results in it just quitting out, no error message for it unexpectedly shutting down and no error reports, it just dies.

I've tried it with nothing else running, I've tried dumping the Indesign Defaults file, I've reinstalled it over the existing application, uninstalled it and installed from nothing, run it from the version 5.0 and got the updates to the latest version 5.0.x, cleared space on the hard drive (does InDesign need hard drive space as a 'scratch disk'?), none of these have fixed it. Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 run fine, its just InDesign thats not doing anything.

While I was looking for something else, I came across something and its fixed InDesign - Adobe Creative Suite 3 products crash when you save, open, or place a file, after installing the Version Cue CS3 3.1.0 update (Mac OS X v10.4.x - 10.6)
It was an update for Version Cue that messed things up, running the script downloaded from Adobe support fixes it.
