My Firefox updated itself. I was expecting 4.0.2 or something, but 5.0 loaded up. I see that it was officially released yesterday. 4 sure didn't last long.
So, what doesn't work with it?

It's a very minor update so I doubt much does not work with it. They are mimicking Google Chrome by giving minor updates a major version number change.

By all accounts, lots of extensions broke because their authors check the version number and disable the plugin if the major number is something they don't recognize. Mozilla's response is that they should check version numbers that way any more. Funny that - a change to the major version number means that compatibility with older versions cannot be guaranteed., so the plugin authors are doing what they're supposed to. Mozilla changed the definition of version numbers to something pointless, and now they're complaining that people are slow to get with the program? OK, so they hardly used them rigorously before, but still.
I like Firefox and I still use it on any Windows machine I have, but Mozilla is starting to get on my nerves.

Yeah, 5 sure feels like 4.
However, I'm still on 3 on my main machine because there are some website incompatibilities with 4 (or 5).

The pleasures of browser compatibility. I keep 3.6 on my iMac because it is the most compatible with some commercial and retail websites I need to visit for work. However, I have Firefox 4 on my Win 7 desktop because Motion JPEG streaming from my IP camera is jumpy in 3.6.

I think it's alright; from a general standpoint I don't see any real improvements across the board. I used to switch between Chrome and Firefox but I'm using Opera extensively right now because of the Turbo feature.
