Anybody have suggestions?

I'm drowning in paperwork. I've got no software I like. It's for business and to a lessor extent personal..

I got no idea what would work well for businesses on OS X.

Is Quickbooks Lion ready ?

Me, personally, I went the Parallels/Win 7 route.
Quicken Home & Business is really quite capable.

How long will it be before an app like Quickbooks is a web service, and people trust using a service like this?

Well, there are already some interesting competitors.

A friend of mine uses Kashoo (www.kashoo.com). There are others as well, of course.

Quickbooks is already online, but it's expensive ($25/mo for a version that does anything useful, and over $60/mo if you roll in the payroll service). And noone should trust Intuit with anything.

I need the same kind of SW, what is wrong with Quickbooks for Mac 2011? Kashoo is $120/year, I can't justify this for my tiny nonprofit. Quickbooks is $172 on Amazon, it should work for at least 3 years, $57/year. I know the bad rep Intuit has, but I just need basic stuff, no online banking.

I am quite baffled by the absence of good accounting SW. Most of it is just a spreadsheet, with a GUI to make tasks easy to do. Why do we have no competition to Intuit?
