I got a new iPhone 4 from work, and went to add my MobileMe account on it.
I noticed that it wouldn't let me use my .mac e-mail address. It only added it's .me counterpart. Has anyone else noticed this? Very lame.

Oh, it works. I just don't want to give people a new e-mail address. As it is, I can't send mail from the phone because it has the wrong e-mail address. I found this on the Apple support forums:
MobileMe: @mac.com email address changes to @me.com on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2
It basically says I need to update to 4.3, which is impossible on a Verizon phone. (Currently at 4.2.10)
So, I think I'm basically screwed. :-(
