I have been a long time user of MobileMe, .Mac and iTools before that and often used it to share photos with family and friends. Now I have migrated to iCloud and wanted to share photos again but cannot see the best way to do it as there doesn't appear to be a way to allow other people to see my photostream. Can any of you suggest a way to share photos through iCloud ?

There isn't one, unfortunately.

You can keep on using MobileMe galleries for now. I have just uploaded a new one successfully, so they are still working. Hopefully they will see sense and migrate this feature across to iCloud as well before they switch it off.

This is a feature that needs to be added back in in some capacity. At the very least, you should be able to allow access to guests who are on iCloud to view your photo stream.
