I don't work for Postbox or anything, so sorry for writing a spammy lead post, I was just lazy.
I work hard for you bitches though, so deal with it!

Good thing we don't have MacUpdate or anything to find applications as Postbox 3.0 is on the first page.

A little grumpy today?
We can also talk about PB in general here, you know, and not everybody follows Macupdate daily. I don't. Besides, it's not like the place is exploding with threads, is it? Some believe that there should be more Mac content and less lounge content. I guess there is no recipe for making everybody happy? Seeing as such, maybe it's best to just ignore the threads you don't care about? This one is clearly marked, right?
You know all of those threads about MacNN dying? Being nice to people certainly couldn't hurt...

I've never used Postbox before. The email clients I've used are Netscape/Mozilla, Outlook Express, Apple Mail, Opera (for a short period) and now Thunderbird. I wonder if I should give it a try-it looks quite nice.

Well, there is no real downside to trying the 30 day demo if you are using IMAP and interested in trying something new.

Would Exchange support require paying for a license from MS, or is this just a matter of decisions about project scope and crap?

The open source Evolution project has Exchange support, but I don't know how good it is. Mail has Exchange support but Lion upgraders seem to be having problems with it afterward.

I think Evolution's support was just IMAP based, like Entourage's support. I always forget the name of the post-MAPI protocol Exchange uses now, but I'd imagine that what mduell wants is support for this protocol, and not just IMAP support and hacks to get the other stuff working (which require enabling IMAP on the Exchange server, which several admins don't want to do).

Maybe the the title annoyed me...seems that MacNN has seen an influx of spammy posts in the last year compared to prior years. Not a fan of software announcements because if you allow one then you have to allow all others. Didn't mean to sound grumpy, if that's the way I came across then I apologize. Please continue with your regularly scheduled postings...
If PostBox 3 imported Outlook 2011 I'd give it a shot but for me that's a major hurdle to migrating.

No idea. Mail.app and Outlook support it out of the box.

EWS
I don't want mail only, I want the full integrated mail/calendar/contacts.

I thought Evolution (in Linux) was very similar to Outlook 2011 for Mac or Outlook 2003+ for Windows (e.g. email, calendar, contacts, etc.).
