I want to synch up iTunes libraries between a macbook (lion) macbook pro (lion) iMac (leopard). The music on these machines is not completely the same and I'd like them to be. I also have a hard drive with an iTunes music folder in it from an older machine. How to I get everything in order and not have multiple copies of the same songs etc. Can itunes match do this? One machine does not have access to DSL, just slow internet.
Thanks

Use private sharing and have it show songs not on the computer. Copy those over from the other machines by dragging them onto the library. Once you have them all in one place, use that as the master copy.

That sounds pretty easy....so I don't want to sound dumb, but can you give me a little step by step on the sharing? The largest music library is on the external hard drive, and I'd like to populate the two other machines with any music that they are missing, but on that hard drive.

In iTunes, click on "Private Sharing" in the sidebar at the left.
(If it's not there, go into the iTunes Preferences and have it show shared libraries under General.)

Enter iTunes account e-mail and password.

Do this on all machines.
