I am receiving the Error message "A message in your Outbox could not be sent. The server did not recognize the recipients." with an Explanation "not local host sbcglobal.com, not a gateway", Error 5550.
I cannot send SOME email - some are sent while others aren't (I consistently cannot send to certain addresses). What's odd is I was able to send emails to these addresses earlier today, plus I haven't changed any of the Account settings at all. Did something get corrupted? It seemed like I started having problems after I switched back and forth between email accounts (i.e. Switched Identities) a few times.
I had something similar happen a few weeks back after switching identities several times, although that time I seemed to get some type of corruption in my Mail Listings file. Once I removed that file from the appropriate folder in the Identities folder of Microsoft User Data, a new one was apparently generated, and all returned to working just fine.
I am running an old iMac 400MHz G3 with OS 9 (Classic) and OS 10.3.9. I've been using Outlook Express 5.0.6 in OS 9 Classic mode with the same ISP for years but just started having this problem and can't remedy it.
Any ideas how I might fix this and be able to start sending ALL my emails? I'd be very grateful for any suggestions you might have.
