don't know if this is an OS question but Ill post here:

my dominate (boot) screen in in the center, but i want firefox to open on the screen on the R.

moving it over to the R then quiting does not solve this proiblem. Interestingly moving safari to the R screen then Q keeps it on the R

any views on this Crucial Matter?

BTW: went to the local aapl store and looked at the MacBookPro retina display: stunning!
MacPro 2.66 dual 3GB RAM 1.5 TB HD's
24" + 21" Samsung flat panels

My Firefox lives happily on my Right monitor (Left is the menubar monitor). I don't recall jumping through any hoops to get it to open over there.

Try deleting your FF preferences.
