I want to get rid of the Icons completely in the "Genre" & "Artist" list view in iTunes 11. I don't want to change them, I've read about how to do this by swapping the .jpg files in the Application folder, I want NO icons at all, just a list. Is this possible?

The icons in these list view are an example of terrible UI design: they contribute nothing to my information and take up too much space, basically doubling the amount of space the list takes.

Alternately, if there's a way to decrease the size to the same height as the Text that would be fine as well.

I have no idea, but now that I look at it, you're right. Album art isn't much good at 50 pixels.

No, its worse than useless...

Generally I'm finding iTunes is probably great if you have, maybe, 15 albums, but for someone with hundreds and many genres its proving to be a disappointment.
