Need some help, not very savvy with Mac's (10.4.11) and novice on SSH configuration.

If I use PUTTY to log into the "remote" machine, I get a dialogue message saying "Couldn't agree a key exchange algorithm (available:gss-gex-sha-toWM5....blah...blah)

If I use the command line from an opposing machine to "remote" machine I get the following;

It looks like the machine you are connecting to requires public keys. Have you created your public/private key pair yet?

Why are you using putty? OS X has a SSH client built in.
