after my 10.5.8 failure Im now on 10.6.8 trying to sort things out

iTunes 11.1.5 now connects to my 2d gen iPad.

however the interface has changes so on the iTunes pane there no longer is a column on the L where you could see your iTunes stuff, then below that the iPad stuff etc

can this be made to happen on iT 11 somehow?

also I manually transfered various movies to the iTunes library from the damaged 10.5.8 and put them in the proper iTunes directory manually:

User> 'home' > music > iTunes > iTunes music > movies

yet none appear IN iTunes the app

what to do ?

Check the View Menu and have it Show the sidebar.

Files don't show up in iTunes just because they're in the folder. They must be added to the library. Just drag them into iTunes.

No, that's where iTunes keeps them. Delete those, and they're gone.

You have to import them into iTunes for iTunes to KNOW about them.

No, you leave them there and drag them into the iTunes window so that iTunes will add them to its library database.

Next time, just drag the items directly to iTunes and let iTunes copy them into its own folder structure automatically.
