hi -

i was wondering whether anyone had experienced a speed difference when accessing information on dvd backups (data not idvd type burns).

i was experiencing sluggishness and occasional hangs when opening folders and attempting to copy files from dvds i'd burned using toast - some burned in os 9 some in os X but accessing info was always faster in 9 than in os X....

i finally gave apple a call about the difficulties in os X and they recommend burning a dvd using discburner as a test - which i did - the burn time was at lest twice s long as with toast but the access time seems much improved....

so i'm curious to hear if anyone else has noticed this....

thanks.

I'm assuming you are using Toast 5.1.1 for X right? I know that the preview builds caused problems but for me at least they seemed to go away. You are probably better off using Disc Burner for DVD's if Toast is giving you that much grief. Sorry!
