Anyone here tried or participated in any of the books published by Graphis? (like Graphis Annual-Advertising, Design, Illustration, Book Design etc.)
Can you share your experience?

Thanks in advance!

yes, i've had pieces in the advertising annual and the poster annual. they are a top notch pub with great production value. the entry process is the typical ad / design gig. judging seems to be more fair than ca, the one show or the art directors club.

what are you looking to learn?

it counts in my book. they need the support so they can stick around. i like them because it's not all goodby, fallon and mullen folk voting for their buddies' work all the time. also, i like the international flavor.

great books. great books. great books.

the award show game is a necessary evil but it's often run like a friggin' high school popularity contest. books like graphis, print, and archive undermine the "club" that is the one show, ca, and the art directors annual.

I am planning to send entries, for the Book Design 3. I guess you answered one of the thoughts in my head, that is if the judging is fair and if it is worth the trouble.
And if exposures from this ad/contest does help in the long run for finding work or at least establishing a certain kind of identity or presence.

Thanks
