Hi again
Now I have got Suitcase 10 working in OS9 but the only thing is the fonts are still jagged on the screen. The only ones that aren't are Arial and Times New Roman.
Do I need something else, or maybe the screen fonts?
I am lost
Please help

you need to load up ATM light from adobe..
it's a free download from adobe.com
ATM light is a control panel for Classic that will smooth your fonts

Someone told me once that you should either use ATM or Suitcase, that you shouldn't have two font managers.
Is that right?
I am so scared of fu**ing things up again now when everything is sort of working, except the jagged edges...
Can you confirm this is definately the way to go?
Thanks

Using Suitcase 10, OS 9.2.1 and Quark, Freehand 10 and Photoshop 6. My printer is a HP1700 (big lump) and I am getting very scared about all these problems with printing. Is it difficult to set the 'loading' thing that everyone keeps referring back to.
My printing facility is vital in my job , but I also need to get my smooth fonts back.
If some kind soul could slowly talk me through it, or refer me somewhere to calm me down. I have downloaded ART Lite 4.6.2 but I don't dare to install....
Should I?

I can't imagine why you'd want two anyway.
Actually, you're getting ATM~Lite confused with the full font manager ATM Deluxe. ATM Lite is a control panel that controls the smoothing of the fonts on yur display under OS 9.2.2 or below. ATM~Lite is what you need. It's a free download from adobe.com.
Just install the control panel and make sure the settings are how you want them. I generally keep them like this:
ATM Rasterizer = ON
Character Cache = 512K (I've never messed with this that much, and I think this is the default)
Preserve = Line Spacing
Smooth Font Edges on Screen = ON
Precision Character Positioning = CHECKED

is your font manager properly pointing to fonts with proper screen and/or printer fonts installed? your font database may be corrupted too, you may want to reinstall the fonts into ONE font manager, NEVER run two.

thank you all. it works fine now!
Ahhhh, my day is made.
It's crazy to have to go back to 9.2 just to be able to work properly... But everything is a lot easier in 9.2 so whatdaheck
Thanks again
