Oh, please I wasn't saying/implying that at all, I was just upping the ante to the challenge. Now that I'm sober, (unlike last night) heres my submission.

Rule #1 in typography - so NOT distort characters - that includes condensing and extending. It's akin to sacriledge

>>i had to d this for an assignment but i thougt it'd be a good excercise.

Wow, this was a blast from the past! About 15 years ago I too had this assignment in an early design class. We didn't have to stick to animals, but many of us did (it was curious then and still is why most people choose to do birds - what's up with that?) . We didn't have scanners and the only machines we had were mac pluses so we had to blow up letraset type on a copier and cut out the forms and rearrange them by hand. If I was to teach a beginner typography class, I'd do this assignment and require abstinence from the computer. Nothing will get you more intimate with type than an exacto knife and a xerox

Anyway, I ended up scanning it in when i was a junior or senior and was able to dig it up in a directory called "syquest school" Remember those? I guess I'm a pack rat of digital files...

Until your client wants to add several paragraphs of text where there's absolutely no room for it. Good rule in theory, and I definitely agree with that for the most-part, but it's not always do-able/work-able however. Plus, sometimes distorting text can achieve a desired affect with display advertisements and so forth. Something like double spacing between paragraphs is a bigger sin IMHO. Makes the work look like it was done by a secretary in MS Word or something.

Unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interresting, because you can watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it"

Since you've got a mac.com account, here's what you do.

1) upload the pic to your iDisk public folder.
2)When you post your reply, add this:

[i?mg]http://idisk.mac.com/YOURMAC.COMUSERNAME/Public/YOURPICTURENAME.jpg[/i?mg]

Of course, YOURMAC.COMUSERNAME and YOURPICTURENAME.jpg you'll switch with your correct names. Also, take out the ? marks from the link- I had to add those so the forum wouldn't think that was a real link and try to show a picture.

Should work like a charm.

Hopefully.
