I'm fulltime, but I still do alot of freelance work and still get alot of offers, but I'm significantly less busy than same time last year or year before.

It's slower for me, but I usually have one big job this time of year. A job that was done "in-house" this year by the customer. Thank god for real jobs.

I'm performing without a net and rely solely on freelance. For me this time of year is typically slow. This year seems to fall into that category. That said business is still good and I'm able to resist the temptation of a fulltime gig.

Hnm, opposite for me, I'm usually busiest between november and february and may-july for some odd reason. That being said when its this slow, it doesn't spawn alot of reassurance in the supposed market pickup I hear is happening. How is it out where you all live? Are you seeing studios hiring again? Less ex-designers working coffee shops? Are *your* studios hiring again? Granted it is slow time, and it appears we are all having downtime with regards to freelance, but as a whole do you see business picking up steadily?

P.S.
I was full time freelance for a long time, then I sold out. I can't wait to go back.

I'm busy from March till September. Between my real job and freelance I rarely have time to enjoy life between those months. This time of year I'm usually hammering away on an 130+ page Quark document (the one that is using in-house now), and a few smaller jobs (ads for clients, website design, T-shirt design, ect). So i'm actually happy to have some spare time this time of year. I'd love to go full-time freelance, but the market is so unstable here, I'm afraid.
