I'm using InDesign 2.0x to create a document using common fonts. I save the result to a PostScript file and then distill it with Acrobat Distiller 5.0. When I view the document with Acrobat 5.0, all of the apostrophes are gone.

How do I fix this?

Why don't you try shooting the pdf straight from ID2? That IS one of its "touted" features. try doublechecking your distiller settings, you may have some wonky font subset stuff going on.

That works but my new PDF file is 12 MB instead of 4.9 MB.

Will a little experimenting, I got it down to 7.2 MB.

this has happened to me many o times while using pagemaker/distiller..

seems common when the client uses the true type version of times new roman

yes, this is a problem with truetype times... I have that problem just with printing, never mind PDF.
