I have an iPhoto library somewhere around 3000 images. Now when I start up iPhoto, the program opens (as seen by the arrow in the dock) and the top menu loads, but the main iPhoto brushed metal interface does not. Nothing shows up. The spinning beach spins as if it's trying to do something, but then it just contents itself with displaying nothing except the top menu bar that reads iPhoto, File, Edit, Window, Help. I know my iPhoto Library is located in the right spot (in the pictures folder), and when I move the library somewhere else and relauch iPhoto, the iPhoto interface appears (but with none of my pictures obviously). I've tried deleting the iPhoto preferences, but that hasn't helped. There seems to be a problem with my library. One day it was working, not it is not. Can iPhoto only handle a library of a certain size? Has anyone else had this same problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

sounds like you might have a corrupt jpg preview that iphoto is choking on..

you can selectively pull out albums and launch iphoto until you come across which album is giving you the problem...then try to reimport the pictures in that specific album..
