Hi Guys and Girls:
I'm experiencing a problem with some Fonts with Quark 5 in Classic Mode.
For some project I'm working on, I need the Following Fonts active:
-Helvetica
-Helvetica Neue Light Extended.
I'm managing my fonts with Suitcase 10.
When I activate Helvetica Neue suitcase, I get a message that there is a conflict with fonts in the System Folder. I tried and removed Helvetica from the System 9 folder and I could activate the Neue suitcase, (I don't understand the conflict, they aren't the same font. One suitcase is totally Neue and the other is just helv and Helv Bold). Now I have to choose one of them, I can't have them both at the same time in Quark.
On the contarry, Photoshop 6 running in Classic mode as well, can recognize without problems the Helvetica font that loads when you start the computer in OS X.
Why can't Quark recognize it? What can I do? I need BOTH fonts active for the same document!!!
Thanks in advance

Frank

this is the main reason why I dropped Suitcase..
I don't care how my program figures it out, but resolve font duplicates without annoying me..

ATM Did it
Font Reserve Did it
Font Agent Did it

why can't suitcase?

Anyway, I switched to Font Reserve, it isn't the best program, but it seems to do it's job without getting in my way all the time.

Another issue:
I was working in my document with a group of fonts loaded. I turned the computer off. When I turned it on again, opened Quark and manually reactivated the fonts again (which I HATE), when I opened my document, fonts that were already active were deactivated I don't know why. Closed the document. Activate fonts AGAIN. Open document. Fonts inactive AGAIN. Is it reasonable? I spent more than 30 min dealing with fonts to make a 2 minute change in my document. And then come and talk about productivity.

Suitcase installs a Quark xtension that does the auto-activation. Some people like others don't...
Quit Quark, remove the xtension (in the quark Xtensions't folder) and relaunch..shouldn't have that problem anymore
