I have purchased an EPSON 2450 scanner for working at home and I'm wondering where I could get an ICC Profile for it, or the best way to make the scanned images color accurate in a non expensive way.
I just experimented scanning a couple of transparencies with it and then sent them to scan in a drum scanner. The differences were HUGE, specially in the luminosity. My scans were much darker.
Any suggestions?

there is a huge difference..you are trying to compare a $400 scanner to a $20,000-$40,000 scanner..

it's been my experience that lower end flatbeds do tend to produce very dark/muddy scans from TX's.. on the couple we have here, I have never gotten them to work properly for scanning TX's..just use em for FPO placement now.

it might be worth your time to download Silverfast AI and try a few scans..I'm guessing you will get better results using that software package then the standard epson drivers.

www.silverfast.com I think is the site
