I don't remember if I already posted this but I searched and didn't find anything.
I have these apple PDF manuals, and thier the size of a normal piece of paper folded in half. Thier many many pages, so I'm looking for a way to join them, so it would stick every two pages on one page, or, turned horizontal and fit 4 on a page. I need somethign automated that can squeeze a bunch on there so I can print a few manuals without printing hundreds of pages. You know I swear I posted this already.

you don't really need to join them in the file. Instead when you print, you set it up to print 2up or 4up depending.
