I have an old abs quark dongle for 4.0 I use with my beige g3 tower. I want to use quark on my 12al (i know screen size sucks for this, but I have tthe occassional use) and was wondering if anyone has has any experience using the griffin imate usb to abs adapter, specifically with the quark abs dongle?

does it work? if not, any ideas on a workaround?

Yes, it works. We have used it on a color iMac and a G4 tower (450MHz). I haven't been in touch with that person about this for a while but it was used like that for over a year.
In our case there were occasional problems with the USB hub and such but they were usually solved by disconnecting things and plugging them back in.

Check with Griffin. They are helpful.

do what most design studios I know did. Download the crack and make your life that much easier.

thanks for the info. god i would love the crack too, but i dont have a good ip for a hotline server, and that community has gotten so vicious lately.

The crack would be nice, anyway, download the latest driver for the iMate from Griffen. Sometimes 9.2 will not see it (the iMate) after waking from sleep mode so you will have to restart the computer.
