you should be able to make this using one rectangle and two different sized circles (one big one for the top/bottom and one small one for the corners).

it's just all about adding/subtracting from paths/selections/channels/etc..

i don't have time right now to do it, so i don't know how much help i am.

Simple as demon said or even simpler if you combine a few applications. I'd probably make the rectangular box in Quark because you can make those convex (or is that concave?) corners and define the radius. Then export as EPS then open in illustrator add a big oval to the shape by combining paths and ...... badda bing badda boom!

yep, multiple apps is the way to go. but, if i were doing it, we'd be all illustrator, all day. could fire that thing out in five minutes flat with a coffee break and a smoke in the middle. wait, i don't smoke. scratch that part.

you can get the convex curve on the corner in illustrator by subtracting a small circle from the square with the path tool. Much simpler than importing a quark eps and then autotracing and cleaning.

so, liquidity and others: there is an advantage to this PS shape tool? It's not just a pain in my a$$? That's what it seems like.
