Hello:

I am in the market for a new monitor, and would love to have a sleek new Apple LCD instead of a bulky CRT... but, in the past LCD's for designers have been discouraged because of innacurate color issues.

But all the research i have found about this is at least a year old... so I am wondering if LCDs have gotten better for print design.

Are there any graphic designers on this forum that are currently using LCD monitors? What do you think? If you have advice, suggestion or links to articles about this, please let me know... it would be greatly appreciated!

Formac's new LCD monitors look promising, they are brighter and higher contrast. You might want to look into those.

Unless your job requires accurate color, LCDs should be fine.

a good LCD will do the job. I am currently using dell 1800 fp at my work place, it works fine. I have the 17" studio display at home and it has wider viewing angle than the dell 1800. So you might want to consider that too.

Even the best LCDs don't have the color accuracy as a nice CRT.

And they support less resolutions.
